Prominent and exceptional Bella Shmurda, a Nigerian writer and musician who can do it all, has released a wonderful new song called “Ara (Gen Gen Tin).”
And this essential work is the follow-up to his debut EP, also titled “Hypertension,” which came out before this one.

If you ask Bella Shmurda, everything he does on ARA is cool. He claims he will never have to beg for food again and will instead reap enormous benefits.
Nigerian musician and composer Ahmed Abiola Akinbiyi, aka Bella Shmurda, goes by both names. Bella Shmurda, better known by his stage name Good Boy Bella, is a rising star in his native Lagos, Nigeria, where he is hailed as the new voice of the streets.
At the age of 16, Bella Shmurda was encouraged by his mother to begin recording his own songs. He released his first track, “Vision 2020,” in 2019, detailing his efforts to support his family while he studied at LASU. Olamide, leader of YBNL, found the song catchy and requested a new version.
His first EP as Hypertension was released in the same year, 2022. Includes the singles “New Born Fela,” “Philo” featuring Omah Lay, “So Cold” featuring Popcaan, “Contraband,” “Ase,” and “Loose It” featuring Simi, among the album’s 15 tracks.
Finally, if you value musical quality, you should include this seminal work in your listening repertoire.
